The Microcosm Series illustrates the spacial relationship we have to each other and to our surroundings. These visual essays incorporate diminutive systems analogous to a larger system and profiles the many layers that make up our society.
“My work investigates the multifaceted composition of contemporary life. These visual essays are an integration of layered images connected by wax, a substance that replicates our own transparent and transitory qualities. By juxtaposing archetypal images, I encourage the viewer to see beyond the limitations of the physical.” - Rangel de Maria
