STATEMENT
Rangel de Maria's work investigates the multifaceted composition of contemporary life. He creates "visual essays" that are an integration of layered images connected by wax, a substance that replicates our own transparent and transitory qualities. By juxtaposing black and white archetypal images, he encourage the viewer to see beyond the limitations of the physical.
