Monarch Contemporary is pleased to announce the exhibition, Refraction, by Benito Rangel de Maria.
Using various materials ranging from dressmaker pins to vinyl film, Benito Rangel de Maria’s new series, Refraction, addresses the phenomenon of light deflection. The art itself acts a lens, where light deflects through the interface between dressmaker pins and other media of varying density. The phenomenon is actively perceived by the viewer as it is experienced from varying angles and changing light.
